How it works:

Kayaks are $15 per person/per hour, with a two hour per person minimum.

We will meet and launch your kayak adventure at the East Newport boat ramp at Lake Newport (Click link below)

Where will we meet:

Lake Newport & The Newport Wetlands

Lake Newport offers 60 acres of open water and 40 acres of wetlands. Enjoy a leisurely paddle throughout the wetland trails and see all the wildlife there is to offer! Float, fish, and enjoy!

Lake Amenities: Boating ( no motorized boats), Fishing/Fishing Dock, Wetland Trails, Picnic Benches, Walking Paths, Outhouse

Special Requests

Private docks and special requests are always welcome. Minimum 3 hour rental starting @ $20 per person / per hour .

Customer Transport

Our single 8ft kayaks are only 40lbs making them easy for you to transport and create your own adventure! Minimum 3 hour rental starting @ $15 per person / per hour.

What should I bring on the Kayak

Flip flops or water shoes (required)
Hat and sunglasses
Water bottle
Swimsuit, clothing- you will most likely get wet!
Sunblock

Do I have to wear footwear while Kayaking

Yes. Flip flops or water shoes are required for safety reasons. You’ll be walking in shallow waters and coarse or muddy shores to enter and exit the boats

Can I bring my camera or phone on the Kayak

That's your choice, however we don’t recommend bringing your phone or camera out in the Kayaks. As the old expression goes, “No matter how waterproof, how durable, or how expensive your phone may be – it still sinks like an anchor.” We wouldn’t want you to lose a phone, even if it’s in a waterproof case.

What happens if it’s raining?

Nothing changes like the weather! Please be advised that all rentals are subject to change and/or cancellation due to unsafe weather or conditions. We will do our best to reschedule.

Is there an age limit to rent a Kayak?

Yes. Children must be at least 10 years old and a parent or guardian must also accompany the child and sign the legal guardian waiver.

Are there any other restrictions?

Yes. Our kayaks are 8 feet long and are limited to one person per kayak with a maximum weight of 200 lbs.

I have never Kayaked before, will I need a lesson?

No. Kayaking is easy and fun even for first timers! Additionally Nomad Kayaking's knowledgeable attendants will provide helpful tips and guidance before setting out on the water.

Do I need to know how to swim?

No. Nomad Kayaking provides a Personal Floatation Device to all renters.
